Bloody Bay

A bay on the north coast, about two kilometres past Parlatuvier. After it there is no other beach you can reach by car until Charlotteville.

About five kilometres offshore the Sisters rocks rise out of the water. A river runs out at the northern end of the bay, and on the beach stand the buildings put up by the island's government, the THA. At Bloody Bay you find changing rooms, toilets and showers. There is also a restaurant and a small bar.

discovertnt rated the bay highly for swimming and cleanliness in 2018 and mentioned lifeguards; in 2011 the THA put up a lifeguard tower. Whether it is staffed today you will see on the spot. In October 2020 Bloody Bay received Blue Flag pilot status, together with Mount Irvine and King's Bay. The tourism agency is still working towards the full award (as of the 2023/24 season).

Bloody Bay is also a sea turtle nesting beach. That is why in 2021 the THA arranged red lighting for the beach facility. Information boards on the beach tell the history of the bay.
