Semi Finals - Conventional Steelbands: Sunday, 12th February 2006; The Grand Stand, Queens Park Savannah, Port of Spain, Trinidad.
The Small steelbands proceeded the Medium, followed by the Large bands; at this show.

THE Conventional Steelband Sunrise Semi-Finals began an hour later than planned, with the National Anthem starting this Sundays show at 10:08 am.
Southern Marines Steelband Foundation start of the Small Band category began at 10:11 am. Transport problems for another S&C regions band, Panosonic Connection, which though playing out of their Play Order and not the only one to do so; however moved in good time to close this category at 02:29 pm.
Some 15 minutes later after adjudication changes, the Medium Band category was begun by NLCB Buccooneers at 02:45 pm; with Sangre Grande Cordettes closing the category that ran briskly in sequence and smoothly to 07:27 pm.
The last and longest segment of the show, the Large Band category with its 17 bands, was begun by Sagicor Exodus at 07:50 pm; after a 23 minute changeover. 6 hours and 55 minutes later, averaging just over 24 minutes a band, the Large Band segment closed to the last notes of Solo Pan Knights to a very empty Grand Stand.

WHILE the show itself did not quite make the sunrise, and ran with few discernable problems at a better than anticipated pace; for some bands distant from the Queens Park Savannah, Port of Spain, their Panorama 2006 Semis ended in the full light of day, as their racks and pans were packed away at their respective panyards. For some of the Tobago bands of course, they may not be home till a possible day later.
  Despite it's 'Monster Show' qualities with its 45 steelbands, and growing the comment “Just too much Pan for one day!”; the 2006 Conventional Semi-Finals had good attendance for the afternoon and up to the middle evening, but a shortfall, even for the likes of the most appropriate Preliminary Champions, Neal & Massy Trinidad All Stars.
  Where in future something has obviously to be done to split this show into more manageable proportions; however, one outstanding feature to this days event was the pervasiveness of an unusual calm, together with a collective awareness that this-day somehow embodied that commemoration to 'Bradley'; in a sort of musical sense, and every steelband present was out there to pay their respect to that ideal. Nearly every band, no matter what their tune, succeeded to have a 'a good play'. Also, the overall quality of the Panorama arrangements appeared to have notched a level of accomplishment higher. It seemed that all arrangers had made a special effort for the 2006 season. Sunday, 12th February 2006 was that day of display.
  The sun was rising on the maturity of a cultural art-form, it was moving into second generation complexity, although taking some sixty years to do so; but all under this collective remembrance of a warm 'Bradley vibe'.
