CONVENTIONAL STEELBANDS

The TT NATIONAL STEELBAND PANORAMA 2005 – CONVENTIONAL Semi-Finals to have 45 Bands; with a 9:00 am start on Sunday morning, 12th February 2006.

  Officially; a mix-up with the score sheets for the Tobago LARGE Bands caused the Tobago results to be voided. With little or no time to resolve the resulting issues; Pan Trinbago then moved that all 3 of the Tobago steelbands are now eligible to enter the LARGE CONVENTIONAL Semi-Finals, thus forcing an all 17 LARGE CONVENTIONAL Semi-Finals. An equivalent re-run of the Preliminaries, but on a larger stage, and adding 3 bands to the categories allowance.
  Out of the 21 entrants; 14 of the MEDIUM steelbands qualify for the MEDIUM CONVENTIONAL Semi-Finals.
  Of the remaining 27 SMALL competitors (Where 3 of the original 30 are now known to have scratched); 14 steelbands qualify for the SMALL CONVENTIONAL Semi-Finals. [ A corrected result from HQ Pan Trinbago moved a band out of the runnung so there are now 14, and not 15, in the Small Band Convebtial Semies as previously reported. ]
  The expected 42 entrants, 14 from each category, now rises by 3 bands to 45; pointing to an early Monday morning finish for the show.
